International landmarks switch off lights
The Eiffel Tower, Houses of Parliament and Times Square were among the landmarks taking part in Earth Hour 2013 by extinguishing their lights (гасити світло) for 60 minutes. More than a million participants joined in this year’s event, which ran from 8.30pm to 9.30pm local time in each country. The WWF says Earth Hour is not about saving energy but promoting better environmental awareness (краща обізнаність з питань навколишнього середовища).
